Relief & Rehabilitation

CFHC’s relief work during natural disaster

TSUNAMI IN INDIA

Almost all the countries situated around the Bay of Bengal were affected by the tsunami waves in the morning hours of 26 December 2004 (between 0900 – 1030 hrs IST). The killer waves were triggered by an earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale that had an epicenter near the west coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. It was all quiet on the waterfront on the Sunday morning after Christmas in 2004 at Kanyakumari, the famous Marina Beach in Chennai and elsewhere on the Kerala coast and Andaman Nicober Islands.

Attack of Tsunami in the State Tamil Nadu

The state of Tamil Nadu has been the worst affected on the mainland, with a death toll of 7,793. CFHC pitched in on the same day and started to draft relief plans. All these plans drafted, yielded the best to bring the people out of the trauma. This includes psychological treatment too! Medical aides, boats and fishing accessories were also provided. Above all these families were helped with groceries for one full year.

FIRE ACCIDENT RELIEF WORK

Waves of fire are as vicious as the waves of the waters. But these cannot quench the relief tasks of CFHC. Relief materials flavoured with love helped people to be out of the ordeal and the wounds.

FLOOD RELIEF

We have been doing relief and rehabilitation work during natural disasters. Through these relief works, we were able to bring smiles on the faces of victims. We the Relief Team of “Christ Faith Home for Children” have been doing the flood relief work in affected areas.
